Associate Attorney

Boutique Litigation Firm — Downtown Los Angeles, CA

About the Firm

A well-regarded boutique litigation firm founded in 2010 and based in Downtown Los Angeles. The firm represents businesses and entrepreneurs in complex litigation across a broad range of practice areas including business litigation, real estate litigation, class action defense, sports and entertainment law, insurance coverage, product liability, appellate practice, bankruptcy litigation, and commercial collections. The attorneys here are known for being responsive, strategically minded, and genuinely invested in client outcomes.


The Role

This is a full-time Mid to Senior-Level Associate Attorney role. You will independently manage litigation cases from initiation through resolution in state and federal courts and arbitration, with direct client contact and a clear path to business development and firm growth.


What you'll be doing:

  • Independently managing cases from inception through resolution

  • Drafting and arguing motions, pleadings, and discovery in state and federal courts

  • Taking and defending depositions

  • Interfacing directly with clients and building long-term client relationships

  • Preparing for and participating in trials

  • Contributing to firm growth through business development and origination


Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant civil litigation experience in a law firm setting

  • Hands-on experience drafting and arguing motions, managing discovery, taking depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation required

  • Experience in one or more of the firm's practice areas is a strong plus

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a substantial caseload independently

  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and interest in growing with the firm

  • J.D. from an accredited law school (Top 100 preferred)

  • Active admission to the California State Bar


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

$180,000 to $250,000 depending on experience


Bonus Structure

  • Monthly bonus for billable hours above 150 hours per month

  • Origination bonuses ranging from 10% to 20% for clients brought to the firm

  • Historically these incentives have increased associate compensation by approximately 7% to 15% above base annually

  • Annual discretionary bonus

  • 100 billable hour credit per year for marketing and networking activities

  • 50 billable hour credit per year for article writing
