First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

Step Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Day Shift

  • Schedule: Day Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 07:00 – 19:30 | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week
  • Weekend & Holiday Protocol: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotations required.
  • On-Call Protocol: No on-call duties specified.
  • Assignment Length: 13-Week Contract (08/31/202611/29/2026)
  • Local Rate Policy: Local clinicians receive a reduced rate.
  • Placement & Floating Protocol: Traveler will be placed on the unit with the greatest operational need (PCU Step Down or Med-Surg Telemetry) based on skill level. May be required to float onsite within skill set or to sister facilities within a 40-mile radius as needed.

Submission Hardstops [STRICT & NON-NEGOTIABLE]
  • Experience Baseline [HARDSTOP]: Minimum 2+ years of recent PCU Step Down or Med-Surg Telemetry experience in an acute care setting.
  • Travel Experience: Prior travel nursing assignment experience is required.
  • Skills Assessment Mandate: Completed RN Step Down (PCU) Specialty Exam and Skills Checklist required at time of submittal.
  • EMR Mandate [HARDSTOP]: Direct clinical documentation experience in Epic EMR is required.
  • Licensure & Certifications [IN-HAND AT SUBMISSION]:
    • Active Wisconsin State RN License or active eNLC Compact RN License.
    • Active AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
    • Active AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
