Job description

Position Summary

United Way of Greenville County is seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our team and support our mission of creating a stronger Greenville County for all. The Marketing Coordinator will play a vital role in strengthening brand awareness, deepening community engagement, and inspiring donors, partners, and volunteers. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day marketing operations, contribute to campaign execution, assist with content creation, and coordinate communications that showcase impact and drive action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns across digital, print, social media, email, video, and direct mail channels to include managing content calendars, campaign timelines and deliverables.

  • Manages social media campaigns and programs.

  • Identifies social media trends and incorporates them into company posts on social media sites.

  • Oversees social media feeds and develops compelling content to expand online awareness.

  • Support storytelling efforts by developing, editing, and proofreading content for social media, newsletters, website, press releases, flyers, presentations, and blog posts.

  • Maintain and regularly update website content using a content management system (CMS) such as WordPress, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand guidelines.

  • Coordinate event marketing and promotion, including fundraising campaigns, community events, and volunteer engagement activities.

  • Track, analyze, and organize marketing performance metrics (social, email, website, and media coverage) to inform strategy and provide reporting.

  • Assist in the creation of donor, partner, and volunteer communications, including presentations, case statements, and campaign materials.

  • Manage and maintain marketing inventory such as branded collateral, signage, giveaways, and print materials.

  • Provide project and vendor management support to the marketing and communications team, which may include serving as the marketing lead on specific projects.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.

  • Monitor trends in nonprofit marketing, fundraising communications, and social media to recommend new ideas and best practices.

  • Support corporate partnerships and sponsorship marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of marketing or communications experience preferred (internships accepted).

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn; TikTok a plus).

  • Basic design and/or video editing skills preferred (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools).

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar) and a basic understanding of CRMs.

  • Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms a plus.

  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborative, flexible, and proactive team player with a strong work ethic.

  • Passion for advancing United Way of Greenville County’s mission and using marketing to drive community impact.
