Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB), Florida

  • Seaside Chapel (Patrick SFB)
  • South Patrick Chapel (Satellite Beach)
  • Cape Canaveral Chapel (as needed)

Position Overview

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator (CREC) is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults within a military chapel community. This role supports spiritual development, coordinates volunteers, and ensures compliance with Air Force Chaplain Corps and Archdiocese guidelines.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver religious education programs (K–12 and adult)
  • Plan and conduct classes, sacramental preparation, and Bible studies
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteer teachers (catechists)
  • Organize major programs such as:
    • Vacation Bible School (VBS)
    • Christmas programs
    • Retreats and special liturgical events
  • Develop curriculum aligned with Archdiocese standards
  • Maintain program records, attendance, and reports
  • Create marketing materials (flyers, bulletins, newsletters)
  • Manage program supplies, budget requests, and resources
  • Coordinate with Chaplain staff and attend planning meetings

Qualifications
  • Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing (letter required)
  • Approved Catechist with the Archdiocese for the Military Services (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, theology, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in:
    • Religious education
    • Teaching or program coordination
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual platforms (Zoom, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a diverse, interfaith environment
