Job description

Job Title: Engineering Technician Location: Seattle, WA Type: Direct Hire Compensation: Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Hours: 40.0 Security Clearance:

Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and CDOT standards.
  • Conduct soil density testing using nuclear density gauges and other approved methods.
  • Observe earthwork operations, foundation excavations, utility trench backfill, concrete placement, and pavement construction.
  • Collect and transport soil, concrete, and aggregate samples for laboratory testing.
  • Accurately document field observations, testing results, and daily reports using electronic reporting software.
  • Communicate test results and project updates with project managers, contractors, and clients.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and operate testing equipment.
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Drive to multiple job sites throughout the Denver Metro area and Front Range.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or coursework in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of geotechnical, construction materials testing, or inspection experience preferred.
  • Current ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification preferred.
  • Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification preferred.
  • ICC, NICET, or WAQTC certifications are a plus.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and mobile reporting applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
