Job Description

Senior VoIP Engineer - On behalf of our client in the maintenance and repair services industry, Procom Services is looking for one Senior VoIP Engineer.

Senior VoIP Engineer Job Details

  • Serves as the subject matter expert and is responsible for all aspects of IP-based telephone systems for the enterprise voice network
  • Provides strategic technical direction, roadmap design, installation, and configuration of all IP-based PBX telephone systems/services
  • Responsible for design, staging, configuration, implementation, and support for VoIP installations as necessary
  • Provides day-to-day support, proactive maintenance, and performs independent complex system troubleshooting
  • Practices telephony asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  • Identifies capacity and performance issues to ensure uninterrupted service 
  • Assists the Senior Network Engineer in planning, design, tasks, and projects as needed

Senior VoIP Engineer Mandatory Skills

  • 7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and implementing enterprise-class VoIP and TDM-based voice networks
  • Hands-on experience with voice and data products including Cisco Unified Communications Manager / Call Manager (ver 11 preferred) , Cisco Voice Gateways, Cisco Unified Border Elements (CUBEs), and Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) functionality, VoIP troubleshooting tools, Cisco Routers and Cisco Switches 
  • Understanding of Voice/VoIP service provisioning methods, service delivery, SLA metrics, and procedures
  • 7+ years of experience designing, configuring and troubleshooting large enterprise MPLS converged (voice, video & data) networks
  • 7+ years of demonstrated ability supporting complex voice, video and data converged networks
  • Experience implementing QoS/CoS policies and priority queuing - WAN & LAN 
  • Understanding of VOIP protocols and Codecs SIP, RTP, T.38 G.711 G.729.a, H.323
  • Minimum of current Cisco CCVP required Willing to work overtime and on-call as necessary to meet organizational needs

Senior VoIP Engineer Nice to Have Skills

         Understanding of enterprise architectures, routing, and transport protocols IPSLA & Netflow monitoring/management

         Some travel (<15%) required
