DUTIES: Drive, research and development initiatives. Integrate emerging technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs. Provide strategic direction and leadership to develop and implement innovative, scalable, and robust systems aligning with organizational goals. Serve as subject matter expert during the continuous
integration/ continuous deployment cycle in a production environment focused on complex design, engineering and development. Lead complex projects from inception to implementation and foster a collaborative team environment. Effectively communicate project progress and technical concepts to stakeholders. Conduct quantitative, algorithmic and theory-based analysis for addressing business issues in information extraction and synthesis, data mining, data visualization, network design and optimization, market and financial analysis, operations research, and decision support systems. Lead significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentor less experienced staff, implement long-term plans impacting the organization, and collaborate with senior leadership. Design, develop, document, and analyze the architecture of integrated voice and data systems including hardware, software and network components ensuring they meet corporate performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and advanced security requirements. Apply advanced engineering principles and best practices to integrated solutions that require in-depth analysis and expertise in VoIP technologies including SIP trunking algorithms and Cisco Unified Communications, and network expertise in TCP/IP, UDP, VLANs, NAT, DNS, QOS and DSCP traffic shaping. Manage daily operations of IT VoIP test systems and implement VoIP server policies requiring expertise in Cisco, Oracle, and Avaya PBX solutions, Ribbon and Oracle SBCs, advanced telephony application servers, SIP proxy servers, Dial Plan design, HRM application, Call Analytics, IVR, DTMF, and routing protocols. Analyze end-to-end VoIP protocol traces across multiple network elements requiring expertise in VoIP networks, SIP, RTP, H.323, Codecs and tools including Wireshark, Radcom, and SIPp for call analysis and generation. Manage incident tickets and track escalations. Perform requirements analysis, test case development, and system testing of voice, data, and web components of integrated systems to identify compliance, performance, and stability issues. Perform functional and feasibility testing of critical VoIP Class 5 line- side features. Perform security monitoring to identify intrusions. Monitor network usage, anticipate problems, and provide solutions. Oversee quality assurance for web-based interfaces to VoIP subsystems. Apply knowledge of technical principles and methods across multiple disciplines. Use VoIP products, services, and internal operations. Utilize VoIP technologies (SIP trunking, Cisco BroadWorks), network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, H.323, DTMF), protocol analysis using Wireshark, Radcom, and IRIS. Utilize call test automation tools such as SIPp. Systems engineering, including configuring and maintaining enterprise VoIP networks, managing test systems, analyzing protocol traces, developing methods and procedures for production deployments and patches, and performing requirements analysis, testing, and compliance checks. Implement, configure, and maintain of service provider and enterprise-level VoIP networks. Use DevOps best practices and perform production support activities including software release and patch deployments and emergency hot fixes requiring expert level Linux RHEL and Unix skills and networking expertise across Layers 1 through 4 of the OSI model. Participate in or lead project meetings to report progress, discuss issues and resolutions,and ensure solution requirements are met.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience in a related occupation applying knowledge of technical principles and methods across multiple disciplines; using VoIP products, services, and internal operations; utilizing VoIP technologies (SIP trunking, Cisco BroadWorks), network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP, H.323, DTMF), protocol analysis using Wireshark, Radcom, and IRIS; utilizing call test automation tools such as SIPp; systems engineering, including configuring and maintaining enterprise VoIP networks, managing test systems, analyzing protocol traces, developing methods and procedures for production deployments and patches, and performing requirements analysis, testing, and compliance checks; and implementation, configuration, and maintenance of service provider and enterprise-level VoIP networks.
