Job Overview

AEC Solar Energy Corp is seeking skilled Residential Solar Electricians to join our Field Operations team. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems across residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects. Youโ€™ll work hands-on with renewable energy technology, support system commissioning, and ensure all electrical work meets NEC and local code requirements. Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, and commission solar panels, inverters, battery systems, and related electrical equipment.

  • Perform AC and DC wiring, grounding, interconnection, and integration into building or grid electrical systems.

  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions, perform repairs, and complete preventive maintenance (inspections, inverter testing, performance checks).

  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NEC, local codes, and strict safety procedures (including Lock-Out-Tag-Out).

  • Maintain and enforce safety and compliance standards (OSHA, fall protection, PPE).

  • Conduct system testing and commissioning, such as IV curve tracing and performance validation.

  • Read, interpret, and complete electrical diagrams, schematics, and service documentation.

  • Use computer systems such as CMMS or Salesforce for reporting and documentation.

  • Assist in training and guiding junior technicians or apprentices.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members regarding project status and system functionality.

  • Safely work on rooftops, ladders, elevated surfaces, and outdoor environments.

Qualifications
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in electrical work or related fields.

  • Valid state or local Journeyman Electrician License preferred (for Electrician roles).

  • 1โ€“2 years of experience in solar PV installation, service, or maintenance is highly beneficial.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational electrical training is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and diagnostic tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.

  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.

  • Familiarity with DAS/SCADA systems is a plus.

  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions; able to lift 50โ€“80 lbs.
