Job description

The Anchor/MMJ serves as a key storyteller and on-air presenter across all platforms, delivering news content in a clear, engaging, and meaningful way that connects with our audience. This role is responsible for anchoring newscasts, reporting in the field, and producing compelling digital and CTV content.

Responsibilities:

  • Anchor assigned newscasts and present content in a clear, confident, and engaging manner
  • Report and produce original stories as a Multimedia Journalist, from enterprise to execution
  • Produce content for multiple platforms, including television, digital, mobile, and Connected TV (CTV)
  • Work closely with newsroom management to enterprise and develop stories daily
  • Demonstrate strong storytelling through dynamic live shots, stand-ups, creative graphics, and effective use of digital and social media platforms
  • Write, edit, and organize stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
  • Gather, verify, and confirm information through interviews, observation, and research
  • Build and maintain a strong network of sources to help the station stay ahead of the competition
  • Contribute to digital and CTV-exclusive content, including breaking news, explainers, and feature stories
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 annually

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)
  • Three (3) years of television anchoring and/or reporting experience preferred
  • Strong on-air presence with solid vocal delivery, clear enunciation, and professional appearance
  • Proven reporting and writing skills with sound editorial judgment
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, social media, and evolving news consumption habits
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative, positive attitude with all station personnel
