Independently administer vSAN storage policies, storage tiers, and workload-aligned provisioning patterns.
Monitor and manage storage capacity across VCF sites; identify trends and recommend remediation or expansion actions.
Operate VCF-native data protection capabilities, including snapshots, replication, and Live Recovery workflows for supported use cases.
Administer and support backup and recovery operations across virtual infrastructure, storage platforms, and selected cloud services.
Perform restore testing, recovery validation, and routine disaster recovery procedure support.
Troubleshoot storage performance issues across workload classes and recommend tuning changes.
Support migration planning from legacy backup tools to VCF-native or standardized recovery capabilities.
Contribute to documentation of backup standards, restore procedures, recovery runbooks, and storage best practices.
Coordinate with platform, network, and cloud teams on changes that affect storage resiliency and recoverability.
Develop practical knowledge of adjacent VCF tools and dependencies that influence storage and recovery outcomes.
Schedule & Presence: This on-site role supports 24/7 operations through real-time collaboration, standard shifts occur within a 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM window, Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position requires scheduled on-call flexibility and the ability to remain reasonably reachable during off-hours for critical business continuity.
Preferred Qualification
Experience with VMware Live Recovery.
Experience with Commvault, Veeam, or backup platform migration efforts.
Familiarity with NVMe, modern storage architecture, and workload performance design.
Familiarity with public cloud storage protection strategies.
VMware vSAN Specialist or similar certification.
Exposure to VCF tools such as SDDC Manager, VCF Operations, or NSX dependencies.
Required Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise storage, backup, virtualization, or infrastructure engineering.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSAN administration and storage policy management.
Experience supporting backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
Experience with storage capacity planning, performance analysis, and operational troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of VMware vSphere and storage interactions within virtualized infrastructure.
Ability to independently manage routine operational work and contribute to problem resolution.
