IT Project/Program Manager & Aptean Ross ERP Consultant
W2 - Brooklyn Park MN

 

looking for either a consultant or contract to hire  IT Project /Program Manager.  Our immediate focus is on our Aptean Ross ERP upgrade, and there will be additional smaller projects that will run parallel to the ERP work.  An ideal candidate would have ERP implementation / upgrade experience,  strong soft skills,  need to build relationships with the business teams and still be firm holding to delivery dates. 

General Description

The Program Manager’s role is to manage the selection, implementation, development, maintenance, and support of business applications, integrations, and data reporting tools that support organizational goals.  Implements and provides guidance related to PMO processes and policies, oversees the work of project staff, and works with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect functional areas of responsibility.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of IT policies, roadmap, and project budgets.
  • Advise management on application and data project requirements, issues, and constraints.
  • Supervise and develop the applications and data management team.
  • Coordinate the development of project charters, solutions research, and gauging fit.
  • Assist in the review and development of project related contracts.
  • Align project objectives with company goals and ensure they are clear to project teams.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Foster partnerships with all project stakeholders and consulting teams.
  • Coordinate internal and consulting resources.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and communication of detailed project plans and timelines.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for project tasks.
  • Collaborate with project teams in the creation of system requirements, prototypes, detailed specifications, data dependencies and relationships, and user interfaces. 
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the approved timeframe, scope, and budget.
  • Identify potential issues and devise contingency plans.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Support business partners in the development of test plans.
  • Plan and coordinate training of users in new systems along with business partner and subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or another relevant field.
  • 10+ years of equivalent IT experience with 5+ years of experience overseeing IT-related projects and 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • PMI (Project Management Institute) Certification as a PMP in project management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP, PLM, and CRM systems.
  • Full understanding of relational database concepts and the ability to write and utilize SQL queries.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in Jira / Atlassian tool suite preferred.
