Job Description

Should Have 5+ years of experience working in data visualization and reporting as a practitioner. Should be fluent in using traditional BI reporting tools, modern Visual Analytics Tools, source control, testing frameworks as well as agile development practices. Needs to have advanced technical skills in order to design and build POCs for the capabilities needed by Analysts. Needs to understand the spectrum of visualization tools available on the market and how these tools can fill capability gaps and be technically integrated to form the analyst's visualization toolbox. Should be a creative thinker who understands the teachings of Tufte, UI design as well as other visualizations skills such as typography, interface design, user experience design and visual art design. Needs to continually find ways to help Analysts turn abstract information into appealing, revealing and understandable visualizations that clearly explain the results of the analysis. Experience with BI data models and data warehouse model. Working knowledge of SDLC (software development lifecycle) processes. In-depth knowledge of Visualization and Reporting Tools, such as QlikView, Qlik Sense, Business Objects, etc. In-depth understanding of data and data relationships and experience with SQL Familiarity with modern (JavaScript) visualization frameworks, such as d3js Ability to work with and mentor business analysts and business users Consultative approach; solving problems quickly, managing expectations, and communicating clearly Ability to apply the right Visual Analytics and Reporting capabilities to the right business problem Ability to challenge conventional thinking and use data visualization in new and novel ways Ability to be a thought-leader as well as a mentor and mature our organizational competency in the use of Visual Analytics and Reporting.
