We are currently a seeking self-motivated, results oriented Visual Merchandising Specialist. It is Micro Center's core promise to take care of our associates and customers which has led to our success over the last 40+ years!
Pay Range range is $20.00 - $24.00
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Visual Merchandiser, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
  • Execute the company Visual Merchandising strategy and standards as defined in the Visual Merchandising & Displays guide sent by corporate for all vendor-sponsored displays. Execute and/or ensure ongoing changes monthly and quarterly in the Visual Merchandising & Displays guide
  • Utilize creativity to create a welcoming visual merchandising environment to customers
  • Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload and how visual merchandising contributes to the attainment of sales and ASP goals. Provide a setting conducive to meeting customer needs and wants to achieve those goals.
  • Partner with store leadership and corporate to plan, support and validate the execution of all displays and vendor-paid visuals
  • Teach and influence store sales associates to ensure proper restocking throughout the business days
  • Conduct periodic physical inventories of displays
  • Participate in on-going store sales training and leadership meetings, training as needed. Teach and influence a store team of leaders to be knowledgeable about Micro Center visual merchandising and visual standards
  • Support team onboarding, continuous learning and help close knowledge and skill gaps through training, influencing and hands-on experiences
  • Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • All other duties based on business needs

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Micro Center Visual Merchandising Specialist. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:
  • Strong understanding of the consumer and how visual merchandising supports an exceptional customer experience and drives business
  • Skilled at executing visual merchandising and displays in endcaps and larger or smaller spaces
  • Pro-active problem solver, ability to assess and issue and see the issue through to resolution
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and communications cross-functionally across a wide variety of team members throughout the store including management, sales, inventory specialists, corporate management, and vendors
  • Exceptional written, verbal, visual communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, organized and energetic
  • Lead and influence store teams to follow processes that support visual merchandising
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Manage job workload and prioritize tasks independently

EDUCATION, EXPIERENCE AND ADDITONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 2+ years related management or supervisory experience in retail visual merchandising. retail operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one on one, small or large group settings. Ability to interpret general business periodicals such as the Visual Merchandising and Displays handbook.
  • Knowledge of Business acumen and creative ability to inspire customers and drive unit sales and ASP.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business needs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sales (increases, decreases), margin proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to stand at least eight hours per day. Ability to frequently walk, stoop or kneel and to occasionally climb stairs or ladders. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Flexibility in work schedule may be required on an as needed basis based on store operating hours
  • Occasional travel to other stores required as needed
  • Well-versed in all Microsoft Office applications and other common business software is required
