Job description

Job Summary

The Manager of Visual Merchandising will define brand/product presentation and storytelling within the retail environment, ensuring consistent, elevated, and dynamic brand/product experience across all stores.  The Manager of Visual Merchandising will be responsible for owning how MUV tells brand stories in our retail stores with the goal of capturing attention, driving customer engagement, and increasing sales.

The Manager of Visual Merchandising will work cross-functionally with the Product, Retail Operations, Retail Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Procurement teams to ensure consistent execution of brand identity and visual merchandising standards in all customer-facing environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute all visual elements and product presentations in-store, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate visual displays across locations, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Lead the coordination of visual-related product mapping, collateral and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and brand identity. 
  • Keep a clear line of communication with Senior Retail Operations Managers and General Managers on suggestions for improving visual merchandising effectiveness and making adjustments as needed, based on customer feedback and sales trends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment of asset investments with storytelling focus.
  • Collaborate with Store Design and Construction teams on fixturing and decor direction for new store openings, acquisitions, and remodels.
  • Collaborate with Compliance department to ensure all visual elements are within state cannabis compliance guidelines.
  • Create, manage and update all visual merchandising playbooks and SOPs for retail operations.
  • Manage expansion of accessories fixture program to support increased ATV and provide a traditional retail experience to dispensary customers.
  • Maintain a fixture inventory list by location.
  • Maintain all store experience essentials, including plants, replacements for props, mannequins, lighting, sign holders, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in visual merchandising and team leadership within a retail environment, cannabis preferred.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and visual presentation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and adapt to market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Organized and detail oriented with ability to execute change management.
  • Solid project management, conflict resolution and people management skills.
