General Function

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, skilled communicator, and organized project manager who can translate ideas, initiatives, and accomplishments into impactful content across multiple platforms. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in strengthening our brand, reputation, and internal communications.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Communications & Content Manager to help shape and share our organization's story. This individual will lead our social media presence, create compelling written and visual content, and develop internal publications that inform, engage, and inspire our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

Develop and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms.

Create, schedule, and publish engaging content, including graphics, photography, video, and written posts.

Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments and messages as appropriate.

Track analytics and provide recommendations to increase reach, engagement, and visibility.

Maintain a consistent organizational voice and brand identity.

Content Development

Write compelling articles, stories, announcements, profiles, and feature content.

Interview staff, community leaders, stakeholders, and partners to develop engaging content.

Create content that highlights organizational initiatives, achievements, and impact.

Manage editorial calendars and ensure timely publication of content.

Publications and Internal Communications

Produce organizational newsletters, annual reports, and other internal publications.

Develop employee communications and leadership messaging.

Assist with speeches, presentations, correspondence, and executive communications.

Ensure all communications are professional, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals.

Brand and Strategic Communications

Support marketing, public relations, and community engagement efforts.

Collaborate with leadership to develop messaging for key initiatives and events.

Maintain brand standards across all communication channels.

Identify opportunities to increase awareness and strengthen organizational reputation.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Experience managing social media platforms and developing content strategies.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and content creation tools.

Preferred

Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design platforms.

Photography and video production/editing skills.

Experience developing newsletters, magazines, annual reports, or other publications.

Familiarity with social media analytics and scheduling tools.

Experience working directly with executive leadership.

Neighborhood Health Association (NHA), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is the largest community health center system in Northwest Ohio with partnerships that include ProMedica, Mercy Health, and University of Toledo Medical Center. NHA has grown from a single location in 1969 to 12 medical and dental clinics throughout Lucas County. Today we operate multiple health centers including pediatrics, adult medicine, dental services, health care for the homeless, women's health center, senior centers, and a full-service pharmacy with lab services on site.
