The Sr. Director of Visual Merchandising will play a key role in bringing creativity, innovation, and elevated customer experience to life across Haynes Furniture and The Dump locations
Haynes Furniture and The Dump are searching for a bold, imaginative, and visionary Director of Visual Merchandising to help redefine the future of our retail experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative leader to leave a visible mark on a multi-state organization with more than 125 years of history that is entering a new era of growth, transformation, and evolution.
We are looking for someone who sees a showroom as more than a sales floor - someone who understands how lighting, space, flow, texture, storytelling, and presentation come together to create emotion, inspiration, and connection for the customer. This role will shape how customers experience our brand across multiple locations through innovative visual merchandising, impactful floor presentation, immersive retail environments, and compelling merchandise storytelling.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sr. Director of Visual Merchandising will lead showroom presentation, visual standards, floor planning, promotional execution, resets, remodels, and retail experience initiatives across the organization. This leader will collaborate closely with Buying, Planning & Allocation, Marketing, Operations, and Store Leadership to modernize the customer journey, elevate the visual identity of the business, and bring fresh creative energy to our stores.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual creativity with operational discipline and understands how great design influences customer engagement, conversion, and sales performance. We are seeking someone energized by transformation, inspired by possibility, and excited by the opportunity to help evolve a respected retail brand into its next chapter.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Retail Design, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
• 8+ years of progressive visual merchandising, showroom presentation, retail design, or retail experience leadership experience
• Furniture, specialty retail, big box, or multi-unit retail experience preferred
• Strong understanding of showroom planning, merchandise flow, floor layout, and customer experience strategy
• Proven ability to lead merchandising resets, remodels, visual standards execution, and promotional transitions
• Strong organizational, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills
• Ability to balance creativity with operational execution and business results
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD or similar design/planning software, and retail merchandising tools preferred
• Ability to travel regularly to support store execution and consistency across locations
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership presence
