Job description

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Quality Inspector, Product QC performs quality inspections such as visual, dimensional and NDE inspection of parts, assemblies and subassemblies. They ensure that the parts meet the design & manufacturing requirements and raise non-conformance when a defect is found. The role is specifically focused on mechanical product inspection within the Oilfield Services & Equipment (OFSE) Portfolio of Baker Hughes. The Quality Inspector, Product QC a full-time position that reports to the ISC Quality Manager, Product QA or Quality Control Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Health, Safety and Environment

  • Actively participate in HSE programs as assigned

  • Keep work areas of the facility in a safe, clean and organized manner at all times in accordance with 6S Checklist

  • If ever you see anyone around you performing an unsafe act or working in an unsafe condition, immediately Stop Work and report to your lead/supervisor/manager

  • If ever any HSE incident takes place, Stop Work and report immediately to your lead/supervisor/manager.

  • Review all associated ORA's/HRA's/MOC's/Work Permits prior to starting work and exercise Stop Work at any time for Safety.

Quality

  • Adhere to the OFS PeoplePRIMED Competence Management Program always as well as all other Quality requirements and exercise Stop Work at any time to ensure the job is done right, every time the first time

  • If ever you see anyone around you doing something that could potentially jeopardize the quality of a product or service, immediately Stop Work and report to your lead/supervisor/manager

Delivery/Production

  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.

  • Ability to identify and use monitoring and measuring equipment needed to verify requirements.

  • Responsible for performing inspections such as visual, dimensional inspection of the parts requires measurement equipment knowledge and use.

  • Completes and maintains inspection records, inspection logs, calibration.

  • Initiates non-conformance reports on all products, parts, assemblies and subassemblies that are not to requirements.

  • Drives quality culture to their plant.

  • Collaborates with site quality and manufacturing engineering on RCA, corrective actions and continuous improvement.

  • Works with Baker Hughes management system databases and systems (SAP, Oracle BHOS, Agility, etc.)

  • May participate in quality audits, material review boards, kaizens or root cause analysis.

  • May need to program or calibrate inspection equipment

  • Identify cost-out opportunities and elevate to lead for review/implementation.
