What do visual development interns do?

As a Visual Development Intern, you will typically work on creating concept art, mood boards, and visual assets that help shape the look and feel of animation or game projects. Your daily tasks may include collaborating with art directors, character designers, and other artists to develop environments, props, and color scripts. Interns often attend team meetings, receive feedback on their work, and may have opportunities to present their ideas. This role offers valuable exposure to the full production pipeline and helps build a strong foundation for a future career in visual development.

What are visual development internships?

Visual Development Internships are temporary positions offered by animation studios, game companies, or film production houses for students or recent graduates interested in the visual development field. Interns in these roles assist professional artists in creating the look and feel of animated films, TV shows, or games by contributing to concept art, environment design, color scripts, and character design. These internships provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to the production pipeline, helping interns build their portfolios and develop industry-relevant skills. Completing a visual development internship can be a valuable step toward a career as a visual development artist.

POSITION SUMMARY
YinzCam is seeking a highly detail-oriented Jr. Platform Support QA Analyst to help ensure the quality and consistency of our digital platforms, including mobile apps, websites, OTT platforms, and various products.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for identifying visual inconsistencies, usability issues, and software defects before they reach our clients. You have an exceptional eye for design, notice the smallest details, and enjoy methodically testing software from the perspective of the end user.
While a technical background is helpful, this is primarily a manual QA role. We are looking for someone with strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering a polished user experience. Training will be provided on our products and testing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual QA testing on mobile apps to identify and document issues, including bugs, UI inconsistencies, and performance problems.
  • Perform manual testing of mobile applications, websites and OTT platform.
  • Identify, document, and reproduce software defects with clear, detailed bug reports.
  • Review user interfaces for visual consistency, layout issues, spacing, typography, color usage, and branding compliance.
  • Evaluate user experience (UX) and identify opportunities to improve usability and navigation.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing prior to releases.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test plans for mobile applications, websites, and digital platforms, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, UI/UX, regression, and cross-browser/device testing.
  • Validate new features against product requirements and design specifications.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and Helpdesk teams to communicate issues and recommend improvements.
  • Prioritize issues based on user impact and severity.
  • Respond to fan support emails by investigating reported mobile app issues, reproducing problems, identifying root causes, and providing timely, professional resolutions to deliver an exceptional fan experience.
  • Participate in release readiness reviews and quality signoff.

Requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
  • Local to Pittsburgh. Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Exceptional attention to detail-you notice things others miss.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think from the perspective of the end user.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to clearly describe issues.
  • Organized and methodical approach to testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and products.
  • Passion for creating polished, intuitive digital experiences.

NICE TO HAVE
Experience with:
  • Jira or similar issue tracking tools
  • Internship experience as a QA Analyst
  • iOS and Android devices
  • Basic HTML/CSS understanding
  • Cross-browser and responsive testing
  • Familiarity with mobile app development

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
A successful Jr. Platform Support QA Analyst is someone who:
  • Has an incredible eye for detail and visual quality.
  • Can quickly identify UI inconsistencies and usability issues.
  • Enjoys finding bugs before customers do.
  • Thinks critically about how products should function, not just whether they work.
  • Is proactive in suggesting improvements to both functionality and user experience.
  • Takes pride in delivering polished, high-quality work.

THE BENEFITS
  • Paid time off every year
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave
  • Full medical, dental and vision health insurance
  • Paid gym membership in LA Fitness
  • Paid Coursera plan to take 10,000+ courses around the world
  • Beverages and snacks
