Job Overview
The Manager, Storewide Visual Creative develops innovative visual concepts, customer experiences, and creative solutions that bring Macy's brand vision to life across stores, windows, events, and special projects. The role partners closely with the Visual Director to translate business objectives into compelling visual narratives through concept development, rendering, presentation design, and emerging creative technologies.
The Manager, Storewide Visual Creative demonstrates strong creative thinking, advanced visualization skills, and a deep understanding of design trends and consumer experiences. The role moves seamlessly from ideation to presentation, using advanced rendering and AI-powered tools to create impactful concepts that inspire stakeholders and drive business results.
What You Will Do
  • Develop innovative visual concepts and creative strategies that support Macy's brand, seasonal campaigns, promotional events, store experiences, and special initiatives.
  • Create high-quality renderings, mood boards, and visual storytelling materials that clearly communicate creative vision and design intent.
  • Partner with the Visual Director and cross-functional teams to design customer-centric experiences aligned with brand objectives and business priorities.
  • Translate business goals and abstract ideas into clear, compelling visual concepts for execution across retail environments and customer touchpoints.
  • Research emerging trends in retail, fashion, design, technology, and experiential marketing to inform and inspire future initiatives.
  • Leverage AI-powered creative tools and visualization technologies to accelerate ideation and enhance concept development.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations that effectively convey creative concepts, strategic rationale, and implementation opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising, Marketing, Store Design, Production, and external partners to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Balance innovation with customer experience, operational feasibility, budget considerations, and brand consistency.
  • Stay current on advancements in AI, rendering technology, visualization tools, and design software to continuously improve capabilities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, attention to detail, and on-time delivery.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the Visual organization.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
  • In addition to the essential duties mentioned above, other duties may be assigned.

Skills You Will Need
Creative Concept Development: Exceptional ability to generate innovative ideas, visual concepts, and customer experiences that support brand objectives and drive engagement.
Rendering & Visualization Expertise: Advanced ability to create high-level concept renderings, presentation renderings, and visual storytelling assets that communicate ideas clearly and inspire action.
AI & Emerging Technology: Strong knowledge of AI-powered creative platforms and visualization tools, with the ability to leverage emerging technologies to enhance ideation, rendering, design development, and presentations.
Design Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and advanced knowledge of rendering and visualization platforms such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, SketchUp, Enscape, Twinmotion, Lumion, Rhino, V-Ray, Blender, 3D Studio Max, or similar programs.
Visual Storytelling: Ability to transform complex business objectives into compelling visual narratives and presentations that engage stakeholders and communicate creative vision.
Presentation & Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to confidently communicate ideas to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect creative ideas to customer insights, business objectives, and brand strategies.
Collaboration: Strong partnership skills with the ability to work effectively across creative, marketing, merchandising, store design, and operational teams.
Leadership: Ability to inspire, influence, and mentor others while fostering an environment of creativity, innovation, and accountability.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Who You Are
  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • 5-plus years of experience in retail design, visual merchandising, creative concept development, experiential design, environmental design, or a related creative discipline.
  • This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems. Responsibilities include the ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to move within the work environment and interact with workplace materials as needed to carry out job responsibilities.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • Able to travel up to 20%
