Job description

NOVA Parks is seeking a VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST to join our team. In this role, create visually engaging graphics and marketing materials to elevate the NOVA Parks brand and effectively reach customers through the promotion of our many activities, parks, amenities, and events.

Hiring Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000

To be considered for this position, please submit a portfolio of recent work that exemplifies your design aesthetic across a variety of mediums.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and uphold branding and identity values for the corporate brand and its sub-brands that position NOVA Parks as a leader in the outdoor and recreation space.
  • Work closely with various teams to develop custom designs for proposals, reports, newsletters, and various promotional documents that support NOVA Parks platforms.
  • Elevate identity and storytelling formats across a variety of channels (social, presentation design, email newsletters, motion) with cutting-edge, best-in-class designs including data visualization.
  • Develop and maintain a library of high-quality creative work across platforms.
  • Create and manage identities, such as logo designs, for NOVA Parks’ different product offerings.
  • Create data visualization and layouts for analytics and trend reports.
  • Assist with production of print assets, emails, digital ads, marketing collateral, materials for press and partners, as well as internal and external presentations.
  • Collaborate with the creative team on various projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative and production process.
  • Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects.
  • Offer input to creative meetings and share ideas.
  • Produce attractive and effective designs for all forms of media.
  • Communicate with senior team members to receive feedback.
  • Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with vendors to ensure marketing campaign outputs are delivered to all our clients.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (minimum)

Education: Graduation from an accredited college/university with a bachelor's degree in design, digital communications, marketing, or related degree.

Experience: One to four years of experience in graphic design/digital design working with a creative team in marketing, advertising, media, or publishing, or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience which provides:

  • Digital video, animation, and motion graphics experience.
  • Expert knowledge of branding and identity design and management.
  • Proven comfort level with data visualization and transforming complex data sets into visual narratives.
  • Proven understanding of illustration, graphic elements, layouts, and photography
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator minimum).
  • Experience in Adobe Premiere is a plus.
  • Proficiency in conceptualizing and designing creative assets for social media platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram (in-feed + Stories), TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Working knowledge of email marketing automation tools, such as Campaign Monitor.
  • Experience creating animations and GIFs is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of print and digital best practices (e-commerce, emails, online branding).
  • Strong typography skills and clean design aesthetic.
  • Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize, communicate, and excel in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask across projects/accounts, and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who is eager to dive in, learn, and grow.
  • Ability to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of NOVA Parks, its history, traditions, and policies.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends to attend special events, ceremonies, and Board meetings.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
