Job description

Position Overview

The Visual Designer is responsible for the conception, conceiving, creating, and producing high-quality designs for medium-complexity projects. This includes taking concepts and distilling them into simple, clear visuals. This position will partner and collaborate with the Creative and Production teams on projects to help fulfill creative deliverables. This position reports to the Associate Creative Director, Design and Graphics or higher.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Independently conceptualize and craft high-quality designs for medium-complexity/high-volume media projects including, but not limited to custom screen surfaces (LED & projection), digital/social/mobile applications, print (regular & large-format), presentations (PPT & Keynote), and video creation; Ensuring all deliverables meet the quality standards.
  • Generate clear ideas, concepts, and designs of any form of creative assets from beginning to end.
  • Responsible for designing and executing event branding and logo development.
  • Develop and fulfill creative deliverables based not only on the client's company brand guidelines but also on event brand guides supplied by the client or internally by the Creative Director, Graphics.
  • Responsible for developing Speaker presentations from high-level concepts to detailed PowerPoint and Keynote designs.
  • Regularly communicate with Creative Producers on the status of all events.
  • Work closely with the Creative team to implement the visual style and tone, for each project.
  • Manage timelines for various overlapping, fast-turnaround projects and prioritize requests to hit critical deadlines.
  • Organize and manage shared media assets, ensuring integrity and accessibility for the rest of the team.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical knowledge of creative software, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Organize and maintain workstation to ensure efficient operation; organize and back up files as appropriate.
  • Work well in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Demonstrate integrity and navigate through creative challenges with insight and patience.
  • Attend creative presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for adhering to established project schedule and deadlines providing deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Produce high-quality work that meets the standards expected by internal teammates and external clients.
  • Display the ability to translate effectively and accurately any and all Creative Direction provided into assigned projects and deliverables.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication skills with the ACD, Producer, and team members; project concerns or red flags should be raised immediately so issues can be addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain timely communications via email, teams chat, or phone when working at the office, and especially when working remotely.
  • Ability to work on multiple deliverables and projects at the same time without sacrificing quality.
  • Keep all project data and timesheet information up to date in the Project Management software.
Job Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in graphic design preferred
  • 3+ years of graphic design experience
  • A portfolio displaying a solid understanding of design and typography across a range of different media
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of graphic design, print design/layout, web design, and development
  • An understanding and appreciation of the importance of branding
  • Full proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Working knowledge of generative AI design tools
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint/Keynote presentation design and understanding of how templates work.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experienced working within a larger creative team and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • A creative portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates the range, experience, and flexibility
  • Manage all projects in the current PM software, making sure it is always up-to-date and correct

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.

Salary Pay Range: $74,679.00 - $91,482.00

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. In addition, some positions may be eligible for other compensation such as potential overtime, bonuses or incentives.
