As the Content Author, you will write, update and maintain website copy within Magnolia CMS across multiple brand properties. You will produce both SEO-optimized creative copy and non-optimized content updates while ensuring content remains accurate, brand appropriate and aligned with established CMS standards. Working closely with Design, the CMS Lead and the Digital Project Manager, you will help move content efficiently from draft through review and publishing.

  • Write and update website copy directly within Magnolia CMS, including headers, body copy, page titles, meta descriptions and other page-level content.
  • Maintain an accurate and brand-appropriate voice across distinct product categories, including agriculture, turf, pest control and horticulture.
  • Apply updates to text blocks, product information, seasonal messaging and campaign content.
  • Carefully review regulated and technical product content, including labels, product descriptions and technical claims, to maintain accuracy.
  • Write creative copy that incorporates provided keyword requirements without sacrificing readability or brand voice.
  • Structure headers, content blocks, page titles, meta descriptions and internal links according to on-page SEO best practices.
  • Revise copy based on stakeholder feedback, keyword requirements and page structure needs.
  • Coordinate French-language versions of content alongside English-language content.
  • Account for differences in English and French copy length that may affect page layout or the user experience.
  • Flag content where French copy length or structure may create visual issues during layout review.
  • Follow the content governance, page structure and publishing standards established by the CMS Lead.
  • Work closely with Design, the CMS Lead and the Digital Project Manager to move content efficiently through review and publishing.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively about progress, blockers, questions and outstanding approvals.
  • Maintain organized workflows and provide complete, accurate handoffs to reviewers and publishing partners.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple content requests across different brands, products and deadlines.

  • Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media or a related field.
  • Experience writing, updating and publishing content within a CMS environment; Magnolia experience is preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills across varied product and technical subject matter.
  • The ability to adapt tone, messaging and style across multiple brands and audiences.
  • A working understanding of on-page SEO practices, including keyword integration, header structure, internal linking, page titles and meta descriptions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with regulated or technical product information.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track, prioritize and complete multiple content assignments.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across Design, CMS, Digital and Project Management teams.
  • A proactive communication style and the ability to provide clean, accurate handoffs to reviewers.
  • Experience coordinating bilingual English and French content is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in an agency or multi-brand environment is considered an asset.
  • Agriculture, horticulture, turf or pest control industry experience is considered an asset.
