As part of our dynamic and collaborative in-house Drafting team, you’ll play a vital role in producing detailed residential construction documents and plan specifications for permits and customer options. This position is on-site at our Sarasota office and is not a remote role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Produce construction-ready production drawings based on executed sales contracts and approved standard plans

  • Draft and revise floor plans, interior elevations, and site plans using established standards and templates

  • Create and maintain as-built drawings, lot fits, and community-specific site plans

  • Apply redlines and revisions from Construction, Engineering, and Field teams with accuracy and efficiency

  • Maintain and update CAD standards, blocks, and libraries to ensure consistency across all plans

  • Review drawings for completeness and compliance prior to release

  • Support Marketing and Operations by preparing plan-based documentation from existing standards

  • Work within defined processes and timelines to support high-volume residential production

  • This role focuses on technical drafting and plan accuracy—not architectural design or conceptual work

THIS ROLE IS A GREAT FIT IF YOU:

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on AutoCAD drafting experience in residential construction or homebuilding

  • Strong ability to interpret redlines, construction documents, and builder standards

  • Working knowledge of residential building codes, construction methods, and plan conventions

  • High attention to detail and consistency in drawing updates and document control

  • Comfortable working in a production-driven, deadline-oriented environment

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and basic Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Construction and other teams

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • General sedentary work requiring the use of office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, scanners and telephones
  • Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, grasping, writing, typing, repetitive motions, hearing ability, visual acuity, and climbing stairs on occasion
  • May occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds
