Job description

Role: Sr. Visual Designer

Location: Remote

Duration: 6-12 months+ contract

Key Skills:          

  • Visual Designer (not looking for Product or UX Designers)  Must have CURRENT Visual Design title. 
  • 7 years of experience in Visual/Graphics/UX Design
  • Customer or Patient experience, ideally coming out of Healthcare/Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences
  • Must have a strong portfolio to share.

SUMMARY:

You'll be joining our Incubation Lab, a design and technology team reimagining how human-centered design innovation and rapid concept development happen at Lilly. As a Senior Visual Designer, you'll focus on high-quality visual execution and interface design, bringing abstract concepts to life through polished, tangible assets that make complex ideas simple and accessible.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Design Execution: Maintain a high bar for visual craft, ensuring consistency and quality across all assigned design initiatives.
  • Visual Direction: Translate product direction into intuitive, elegant interfaces that bring future concepts to life.
  • Hands-On Craft: Execute visual design across a range of outputs, from consumer-facing apps to compelling patient-journey storytelling decks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate design rationale clearly to internal partners, driving alignment on design decisions.
  • Interface Design: Create engaging, innovative interfaces that balance strong aesthetics with usability across web and mobile.

 

COMPETENCIES:

  • Deep attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Solid understanding of component-based design systems.
  • Growth-minded approach with the ability to navigate fast-paced environments.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION: BA/BS in Graphic Design, User Experience, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

EXPERIENCE: 7+ years of hands-on design experience in fast-paced environments.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Professional proficiency in English.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong portfolio with an emphasis on interface or screen-based experiences.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to prototype at multiple fidelities.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
