In the role of Senior Graphic Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Lead the design and execution of high-quality branded marketing materials across print, digital, proposal and presentation platforms while helping elevate the overall visual sophistication and market perception of HDR's regional marketing efforts.
  • Partner closely with the Area Marketing Manager to help elevate the visibility, sophistication and overall market perception of HDR's MN/WI marketing and business development efforts.
  • Conceptualize and design a wide variety of materials including proposals, interview presentations, social media campaigns, digital advertisements, email campaigns, conference materials, event branding, infographics, signage, leave-behinds and other client-facing collateral.
  • Develop and maintain branded templates, PowerPoint presentation systems, proposal graphics, visual asset libraries and design standards that improve consistency, efficiency and overall quality across the marketing team while adhering to HDR brand standards.
  • Create compelling visual storytelling and graphics that simplify complex technical information into engaging, easy-to-understand content.
  • Support integrated social media and digital marketing campaigns through creation of graphics, branded content and marketing visuals aligned with HDR's strategic positioning efforts.
  • Research and implement best practices in proposal design, visual communication, digital engagement and presentation strategy to help modernize and enhance HDR's external-facing marketing presence.
  • Mentor and support marketing staff on branding, layout, typography, visual hierarchy and effective graphic communication while helping establish best practices and scalable design systems across the area.
  • Plan, manage and deliver projects from concept through completion, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining strong quality control and attention to detail.
  • Research emerging technologies, design trends and production techniques to continuously improve HDR's marketing materials and visual communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably supporting AEC, professional services or proposal-driven marketing environments.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated design capabilities across print, digital, proposal and presentation formats.
  • Experience creating proposal templates, interview presentations, infographics, social media campaigns, digital marketing assets and branded collateral.
  • Strong understanding of branding, visual storytelling, typography, layout systems and information hierarchy.
  • Experience developing scalable graphic libraries, template systems and branded asset management tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and strong PowerPoint presentation design skills.
  • Experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects, motion graphics, video editing, digital printing or production coordination preferred.
  • Strong understanding of current digital marketing and social media trends and best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically beyond design execution and contribute ideas that strengthen marketing effectiveness and brand perception.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative, accountability, reliability and ownership from concept through final delivery while managing projects with minimal oversight.
  • Takes pride in delivering polished, thoughtful and high-quality work and is motivated by continuously elevating the quality, consistency and impact of HDR's marketing and branding efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to design a wide variety of styles
  • Eye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etc
  • Strong portfolio showing design experience
  • Understanding of branding/brand development, communications, and research
  • Proficiency in customer service, strong communication and negotiation skills, flexibility, time management, project management, detail oriented, leadership, and teamwork
  • Experience with Premiere, After Effects and Audition; ability and experience working on strategic campaigns (Video Designers Only)
  • Offset printing/digital printing/color correction; ability to coordinate complex projects
