Job description

The Visual Merchandising Lead drives sales and delivers a positive customer experience by creating compelling displays and elevated presentations. This role supports the store by executing visual directives, using elements to create visual impact, and enhancing merchandise presentations, aligned with brand identity and company standards. The Visual Merchandising Lead works collaboratively with merchandising, operations, and selling teams to ensure visual and merchandising excellence and achieve store objectives. This is an hourly position.

What you will do

  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative in achieving store objectives and driving the accomplishment of key metrics.
  • Thoughtfully plan and execute visual merchandising and signing directives, installations, and floor setups for special events, seasonal campaigns, and weekly storewide promotional events, complementing store architecture and layout.
  • Create visual impact through displays, accent lighting, mannequins, and strategic placement of additional visual elements. Complete daily visual maintenance activities to sustain enhanced visual and merchandising presentations.
  • Maintain organization and storage of visual collateral, signage, mannequins, hardware, tools, and other visual elements to promote efficiency. Confirm accuracy and condition of all inbound visual components, fixtures, and supplies.
  • Communicate daily objectives and key tasks. Model behaviors that support building team knowledge to enhance individual and store results.
  • Participate in weekly leadership workload planning meetings to ensure all visual activities are planned and scheduled. Utilize visual directives, planograms, inbound manifests, and company tools to determine tasks and key action items.
  • Support shortage control and inventory accuracy by following product protection procedures and maintaining accurate documentation for product displays. Champion team knowledge of inventory management, asset protection procedures, safety guidelines, and security protocols.
  • Enhance team performance by assisting with onboarding, initiating teaching opportunities, and supporting associate's continued learning.
  • Champion associate engagement, sharing team successes and celebrating associate achievements. Foster a positive store culture by ensuring team members understand their role in achieving store goals and feel valued.
  • Support in-store customer experience by providing excellent customer service, assisting with stock replenishment and store recovery efforts, and supporting the store during key coverage periods.


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to use data, guidance, and judgement to support timely and effective decisions that contribute to team and business success.
  • Skills and experience to perform in the role and a commitment to continuously learn.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to store success by teaching, partnering, and encouraging others.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Communicate with excellence.
  • Comfortable with technology, including smartphones, tablet computers and Windows-based operating systems.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Visual Merchandising or Retail Management
  • Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work with paint, climb ladders, carry props, and work with visual elements at heights.
