Education & Events Volunteer
Brasstown Bald Visitor Center
About the Opportunity:
FIND Outdoors is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support educational programming, special events, and visitor experiences at Brasstown Bald. Education & Events Volunteers play a vital role in helping visitors connect with the site through hands-on activities, educational experiences, and welcoming customer service. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, supporting community events, and contributing to meaningful educational experiences in a public lands setting. 
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Assist staff with educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages.
Support school groups, programs, and events hosted at Brasstown Bald.
Welcome visitors and provide general information about the Visitor Center, exhibits, and available programs.
Help ensure educational spaces remain organized, stocked, and visitor-ready.
Serve as a friendly and professional representative of FIND Outdoors.
Required Qualifications:
Volunteers should…
Enjoy interacting with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Have an interest in nature education, community engagement, outdoor recreation, or public lands.
Be dependable, organized, and willing to assist where needed.
Communicate effectively and work well with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
Be comfortable standing, walking, and working both indoors and outdoors.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with youth, including education, camps, after-school programs, scouting organizations, or other youth development settings, is preferred.
Previous experience in interpretation, environmental education, museums, visitor services, or public engagement is appreciated but not required.
Time Commitment:
Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability.
Opportunities available weekdays, weekends, and evenings during special events.
This is a seasonal position and will conclude in the winter with potential to recur each Summer and Fall.
