Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Experience Center Host serves as the onsite ambassador and operator for an immersive, interactive local heritage attraction located at a major cultural and tourist corridor in Albuquerque. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, assisting with interactive art installations, managing light operational duties, and ensuring an exceptional visitor experience.
This position is ideal for someone outgoing, creative, reliable, and energized by tourism, arts, and local history. Must be able to work expanded hours during summer season and special events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Experience & Engagement
· Warmly greet all visitors, answer guest questions, and provide orientation to the experience flow.
· Share key facts, history, and stories in a friendly, informal manner.
· Assist guests with photo ops, interactive art pieces, and digital experiences.
· Promote a positive, inclusive, and memorable environment for families, tourists, and content creators.
Daily Operations
· Open and close the venue, following checklists to ensure all installations are functioning properly.
· Conduct regular walkthroughs to confirm safety, cleanliness, and exhibit readiness.
· Manage the retro vending machine (stocking, troubleshooting, minor issues).
· Oversee visitor flow, prevent bottlenecks, and maintain a calm, orderly atmosphere.
· Operate and monitor any ticketing or check-in systems (if applicable).
Safety & Facility Oversight
· Monitor the space to ensure guest safety and protect exhibits from damage.
· Enforce posted rules for interactive art pieces and photo areas.
· Identify and report maintenance needs, equipment failures, or safety hazards promptly.
· Execute basic cleaning tasks throughout the day (wiping surfaces, resetting props, tidying seating areas).
Marketing & Visitor Feedback
· Encourage guests to tag the attraction on social media and assist with QR-code share stations.
· Collect guest feedback and share observations to improve the experience.
· Support after hours or special events as needed (seasonal or scheduled).

Skills and Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Comfortable speaking with a wide range of visitors.
· Able to stand, walk, and move throughout the space for extended periods.
· Able to lift up to 25 lbs. for light stocking/prop resetting.
· Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
PREFFERED
· Experience in hospitality, tourism, museum/gallery operations, retail, or attractions.
· Experience with point-of-sale or visitor-management systems.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Fast paced, guest facing environment with immersive lighting and audio elements.
· Includes both indoor and semi outdoor spaces depending on design.
