Job Summary:
High-performance server product team in Supermicro is seeking talented System Engineer who can lead the technical collateral development of in-house single socket server system products. This individual will have the opportunity to define and implement latest data center and storage technologies, and to create proof of concepts and technical feature paper presentations to differentiate Supermicro product through online and at various industry events. This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in application benchmarks specifically in networking, storage, and virtualization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Work with product managers, system engineers and production to manage the product life cycle (from design to EOL phase), and help production to solve any system level issues
• Define and develop application benchmarks based on enterprise storage requirements and generic server architecture, key examples include Vdbench, FIO, RDMA, flashed based storage (NVDIMM, and NVMe)
• Execute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on latest data center technologies and Supermicro server products such as the Supermicro SuperServers
• Apply various component knowledge such as CPU, DRAM, flash-based storage, and motherboard to develop and integrate embedded system products and solutions
• Proactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products to propose new Proof of Concepts
• Work with sales/FAE and customers to provide optimal solution and technical support
Qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master's degree in EE, CE or ME with minimum of 2 years system engineering experiences
• Strong knowledge in enterprise server architecture. Previous experience in server product development is a plus
• Strong knowledge in server architecture (including PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocols) and OS applications, and knowledge in vSAN is a plus
• Knowledge in benchmarks(FIO/IOMeter/vdbench), in-band and OOB (IPMI/BIOS) management
• Experiences in Windows and Linux OS and scripting languages (python, JavaScript, Visual Basic) a plus
Salary Range
$84,000 - $134,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
