Job description

Summary:

Are you early in your HR career and looking for a role where you'll do real, meaningful work from day one?

We're looking for an HR Coordinator to join our team at Virtual - a fast-moving, people-first organization supporting global clients across multiple regions. This isn't a "schedule meetings and file paperwork" kind of role. You'll be embedded in the full lifecycle of HR operations, working closely with an HR Director who is invested in your growth.

If you're someone who loves getting the details right, takes pride in running a clean process, and wants to build a real foundation in HR operations - we'd love to meet you.

Preference for local candidates to work out of our Wakefield, MA office 3 days/week.

What you'll gain:

  • Broad, hands-on experience fast You won't be siloed. In this role you'll touch onboarding, offboarding, payroll support, compliance, recruitment operations, performance cycles, and more - giving you exposure across the full HR function in a way that many early-career roles simply don't.
  • A front-row seat to global HR You'll support HR operations across multiple countries and regulatory environments, giving you exposure to international people practices that most coordinators don't see until much later in their careers.
  • Real mentors You'll work directly alongside HR team who are invested in showing you how strategic HR decisions get made - not just hand you a task list.
  • Room to make your mark We're building and improving our processes as we scale. If you spot a better way to do something, we want to hear it. This is a team that values proactive thinking and rewards initiative.
  • A collaborative, stable team environment You'll be part of a close-knit team that takes its work seriously and supports each other. We work hard, but we also genuinely like working together.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Supporting employees through every stage of their journey - from their first day to their last
  • Coordinating onboarding and offboarding across teams, systems, and geographies
  • Keeping HR records accurate, organized, and audit-ready
  • Supporting recruitment operations including job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
  • Assisting with payroll processing and HRIS data validation
  • Supporting performance review cycles and compensation administration
  • Helping maintain compliance across global regulatory requirements
  • Identifying process gaps and recommending improvements
  • Provide cross-functional client support, as needed

What we're looking for:

  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or HR Administration
  • High attention to detail - you catch things others miss and you care about getting it right
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Discretion and good judgment when handling sensitive information
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset - you don't wait to be told when something needs fixing
  • Ability to commute to Wakefield, MA 3 days per week

We know that 1–3 years in, you're still figuring out what kind of HR professional you want to become. We think the best way to figure that out is to get real experience across a lot of different areas - and that's exactly what this role offers. We're not looking for someone who has done everything. We're looking for someone sharp, curious, and dependable who wants to grow.

The target hiring range for this role is $50,000 - $55,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors. In addition, our total rewards package includes a robust medical, dental, and vision insurance plan (free option available for individuals); generous short- and long-term disability, supplemental life insurance, health care and dependent care, Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k) savings match, paid parental leave, financial planning workshops, pre-paid legal plan, discretionary annual bonus and merit increase, and unlimited paid vacation time.
