These teachers use digital platforms to instruct students, follow lesson plans, and ensure continuity of education when the regular teacher is unavailable. Responsibilities may include leading live video classes, facilitating discussions, assigning and grading work, and maintaining classroom order—all remotely. Virtual substitute teaching requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and familiarity with educational technology.

How do virtual substitute teachers manage classroom engagement and maintain continuity of learning in an online environment?

Virtual substitute teachers often face the challenge of quickly building rapport with students while ensuring lessons stay on track.
