What is virtual solar sales?

Virtual Solar Sales is the process of selling solar energy systems and related products to customers remotely, often using online platforms, phone calls, and video conferencing instead of in-person meetings. Sales representatives educate potential customers about solar energy benefits, assess their needs, provide quotes, and guide them through the purchase process entirely online. This approach allows for greater flexibility and can reach a wider customer base, making solar energy solutions more accessible. Virtual Solar Sales professionals must be knowledgeable about solar products, incentives, and installation processes, as well as skilled in digital communication.

Our flagship product, the Ara Home Energy Station, is a wall mounted device that gives everyone ownership over their energy supply by using solar power to charge their EV and home, unlocking their EV's battery for backup power (V2H), and optimizing the energy flow between their solar panels, EVs, backup battery and the grid.

The opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Sales Advisor to guide homeowners through their transition to clean, intelligent home energy. In this role, you'll act as a trusted advisor-helping customers understand dcbel's offering, confirming whether their home qualifies for an installation, and ultimately turning interest into sales. You will build trust through clear, confident, and consultative conversations about the value of Ara Core: energy independence, solar and energy savings, EV charging at home, and backup power during outages. This is a customer-facing sales role focused on delivering an exceptional buying experience for customers and assisting in shaping and growing the sales function.

Main responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers through phone, chat, email, video consultations, and other digital channels to guide purchasing decisions, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and support online sales growth.
  • Convert leads into sales, by validating customer needs, confirming their home is eligible for an Ara system and walking through buying experience.
  • Own the sales process from qualified lead to closed deal. Build trust through the purchase experience. Handle questions related to product, pricing, programs, installation, and compatibility. Guide customers through deposit and payment steps, as well as the next steps in the installation journey. Meet or exceed conversion and revenue targets.
  • Ensure a smooth, high-quality pre-sales experience. Set clear expectations for installation and timelines. Act as the bridge between the customer and internal teams. Maintain a "white-glove" experience aligned with dcbel's premium positioning.
  • Explain dcbel's offering in simple, compelling terms, build trust, and help customers visualize the benefits of a home energy ecosystem powered by Ara.
  • Conduct discovery calls to assess whether the home is suitable for installation. Gather key information from customers, such as the type of home and ownership, and electrical panel size (high-level-no calculations required).
  • Mentor and support junior sales advisors
  • Participate in sales process improvement initiatives.

Success looks like: A high lead-to-sale conversion rate, strong customer satisfaction and trust scores, and accurate lead qualification with minimal drop-offs further in the sales funnel.

Key requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in customer sales or retail advisory roles, with proven ability to convert leads into sales
  • Experience in consumer technology or premium products, home services (solar, HVAC, EV charging, etc.); interest in energy, sustainability, or electrification

Bonus skills

  • Bilingual French and English

Profile

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable explaining new concepts in simple terms
  • Comfortable with CRM and established and/or changing business processes
  • Strong EQ, entrepreneurial mindset and resourceful and ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Schedule Flexibility: This role supports customers across multiple North American time zones. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include East Coast and West Coast business hours, as well as occasional evenings and weekends, based on business needs.

What's in it for you

  • Be part of a company that is backed by numerous globally respected investors and has world-changing patents in an industry changing for the first time in history.
  • Grow your professional experience amongst blue chip partners and a close-knit team of committed and experienced energy experts who deeply care about the work they do.
  • Full benefits package including Health insurance, Health virtual care, employee stock options plan (ESOP) and flexible hours. Parking available or with our employer commute program a short walking distance from Metro Namur.
