Job Summary
The Assessment Facilitator supports the delivery of psychoeducational evaluations by serving as the on-site liaison between students, schools, and virtual school psychologists. This position is responsible for coordinating evaluation logistics, preparing testing environments, escorting students to and from testing sessions, monitoring students during virtual assessments, and ensuring standardized testing procedures are followed under the direction of a licensed school psychologist.
The Assessment Facilitator plays an essential role in providing a positive, organized, and secure testing experience while maintaining confidentiality and supporting compliance with federal and state special education regulations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate evaluation schedules with school personnel and virtual school psychologists.
- Reserve appropriate testing locations that provide a quiet, distraction-free environment.
- Prepare testing rooms and technology prior to scheduled evaluations.
- Escort students from classrooms or designated locations to testing sessions and return them upon completion.
- Monitor students during virtual assessment sessions while following procedures established by the supervising school psychologist.
- Assist students with technology needs without compromising the validity or integrity of standardized assessments.
- Maintain standardized testing procedures and testing security as directed by the supervising school psychologist.
- Ensure student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA, IDEA, and district policies.
- Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, office staff, and school psychologists regarding schedules and testing logistics.
- Maintain accurate documentation of scheduled evaluations, completed sessions, and other required records.
- Organize and transport testing materials and equipment as needed.
- Participate in district training related to assessment procedures, technology, confidentiality, and student support.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
Qualifications
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act (48 semester hours of college credit or passing scores on ParaPro exam)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while following detailed directions.
- Proficiency with computers, videoconferencing platforms, and basic technology.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students and staff.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between district buildings.
