Adult Education Instructor - Hyflex - ERIE

Position Details: We are currently looking for an individual to provide instruction to adult learners at the Adult Education Center, 809 Peach St. Erie, PA. Class/Instructional time is Monday and Wednesdays from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. Schedule also includes 1.5 hours for prep time and case management, 1 hour for student support, and 1 hour for professional development for an average of 8.5 hours per week. This is a hyflex classroom and the chosen instructor must be comfortable with conducting both in person and virtual instruction simultaneously.

Hourly Rate:$23.00

Position Summary:

Adult Education Instructor plans, instructs, and assesses adult students in preparation to successfully complete high school equivalency exams, improve basic reading and math skills, ESL (English Second Language) skills, and/or transition to employment and/or post-secondary education or training. The part-time, contracted position reports to the Adult Education Program Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential
  • Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics, must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelor's degree or higher

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards
  • Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students
