Job Details:
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (Zayed 9 East) at Johns Hopkins is an 18-bed adult ICU which includes 4 dedicated cardiac surgery beds specializing in the care of critically ill post-operative surgical patients. As a Level 1 Regional Trauma Center, our unit cares for a diverse population, including those recovering from abdominal transplants (liver, kidney, pancreas), trauma, vascular surgery, general surgery, GI procedures, and ortho/neuro spine surgeries. Our multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses (RNs), advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs), physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, clinical technicians, and support staff-working together to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. Our nurses are highly skilled in managing complex patients and advanced technologies, including ventilator management, continuous vasoactive medication infusions, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). We take pride in our strong culture of teamwork, professional development, and shared governance. Through active participation in our Performance Improvement, Safety and Ethical Practice, Education and Standards of Care, and Engagement Committees, staff have meaningful opportunities to lead, grow, and shape clinical practice. Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • RN work experience required

Salary Range: Minimum 39.64/hour - Maximum 61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
