Job description

Position Reports To: VP of Data Science

Salary Range: $110K to $140K

Location: Remote Based (U.S.)

Data Scientist I/II

BioLink360 is partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare consulting organization to identify a Data Scientist to join its Strategic Analytics, Value & Economics team. We're recruiting Data Scientists who can turn Medicare, Medicaid, and RWE data into evidence that actually moves the needle, informing market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategy for therapies trying to reach patients who need them.

This is an opportunity to work with real-world evidence (RWE), health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market access, and healthcare analytics while supporting leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical technology companies. You'll help generate evidence that informs reimbursement strategy, payer decision-making, health policy, and patient access to innovative therapies.

Position Overview

This isn't a generic claims-crunching role. You'll be embedded with consultants, economists, and policy experts, designing and executing advanced healthcare claims analyses and observational research studies using Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, electronic health records, and other real-world data sources. You'll translate dense CCW, VRDC, SAF, RIF, or T-MSIS data into insights that shape real decisions, the kind that determine whether a therapy gets covered, priced right, and gets to market.

It's high-impact work with direct influence on healthcare decision-making, alongside recognized experts across analytics, health economics, market access, and healthcare policy, in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute modeling for Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, EHR, and other healthcare datasets.
  • MUST have experience with pharmacy data.
  • Analyze treatment patterns, healthcare costs, utilization, and clinical outcomes to generate real-world evidence.
  • Develop scalable analytical programs using SAS, SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • Build high-quality client deliverables including executive presentations, technical reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries.
  • Translate complex analyses into actionable business insights for life sciences clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary consulting teams supporting market access, reimbursement, pricing strategy, and healthcare policy engagements.
  • Ensure analytical quality through rigorous programming validation, documentation, and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Economics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Real, hands-on PDE data experience
  • 1+ years of professional experience using SAS.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting healthcare analytics, HEOR, RWE, or observational research.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and healthcare policy.
  • Experience with CMS Chronic Conditions Warehouse (CCW), Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC), or Medicaid T-MSIS data.
