The Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove (WVHUG) is seeking a Registered Dietitian , to provide nutrition services for members . The Home is a 24/7/365 skilled nursing, long-term care facility that specializes in providing comfort, support, and professional healthcare services to elderly or disabled veterans and their spouses. The facility is in Racine County, a short drive from Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, and other key locations in southeastern Wisconsin. Come lead our dedicated Nursing Services team!

Position Summary
The Dietitian-Clinical provides nutrition services to the residents (members) of WVHUG, a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include regularly assessing members' nutritional statuses; developing and implementing nutrition care plans; participating in interdisciplinary care conferences; ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations; providing individualized or group nutrition education; participating in performance improvement efforts; and providing support and guidance to Nutrition & Dining Services management staff.

Salary Information
Starting salary is between $68,640 - $72,135 per year, depending on candidate qualifications.
Dietitian-Clinical is in pay schedule-pay range 11-04.
Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Pay for current State employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan.
Job Details
This position currently works on-site, with potential for hybrid/remote work in the future.
The Registered Dietitian works AM shift Monday through Friday.
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a caregiver background check prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
The required credential is:
  • a Wisconsin Registered Dietitian license with unrestricted eligibility to work in a federally funded licensed nursing home
In addition to the license, qualifications that will be reviewed in next steps are experience and/or education:
  • Performing dietetic functions *
  • Using the Resident Assessment Instrument *
  • Using computer programs to complete work duties *
  • Performing dietetic functions in a nursing home
  • Collaborating on a multidisciplinary team
  • Problem solving
  • Providing educational programming on nutrition and dietetics
