Network Administrator Operator
Location: Ashburn, Virginia (On-site)
Role Overview
This role provides onsite technical support for a data center and its equipment to ensure continuous availability. The position involves coordinating, monitoring, administering, and servicing technical environments. Responsibilities include completing implementations, carrying out integration activities, and providing operational support through troubleshooting, escalations, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform network and server installation and maintenance, including rack and stack, cabling, and component replacement.
  • Support data center staging, deployment, logistics, and asset management.
  • Execute site builds and refreshes, while meeting current quality standards.
  • Install and test enterprise-level fiber and copper cabling, including the termination of Cat 6 cabling.
  • Maintain inventory control and documentation for systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate incidents, interfacing with other teams and vendors to resolve outages.
  • Maintain, configure, and perform preventative maintenance on various network and data center equipment.
  • Participate in creating and updating rack elevations, procedures, and site reference documentation.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
  • Intermediate Data Center or IT Operations experience.
  • Experience with software and hardware tools used in data center functions.
  • Experience with out-of-band management/KVM systems and power distribution units (PDUs).
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN topologies, protocols, and standards.
  • Familiarity with network cabling, electrical and optical transceivers, server hardware, and electrical standards.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Skills:
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and grammatical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with a meticulous approach to cabling.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Experience and technical training in WAN/LAN communications, including installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions or recommendations.
  • Advanced skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position requiring a night shift schedule. The work week consists of four 10-hour shifts, from Wednesday through Saturday, between 8:00 PM and 6:30 AM. The ability to participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support is required.
