We are seeking an exceptional Functional and Training Specialist in support of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) Surface/Water Program. GATES serves as a single port management system providing cargo planning, in- transit visibility, vessel manifesting, customs clearance, cargo documentation, and sends payment data to ARTRANS G8 for cargo billing.


Job Description:

  • Responsible for preparing comprehensive software test plans that support GATES testing requirements.
  • Develop scenarios that thoroughly test the specified platforms and systems. These scenarios should be linked to standard datasets that include representative cargo records with known data format and content flaws, to simulate real-world data.
  • Performs various GATES roles to properly test the system functionally during software testing.
  • Ensures software meets functional requirements and conducts regression testing to ensure code changes don't negatively impact other operational requirements. Document any problems or issues that arise in the Daily Update Report.
  • Assist with GATES training kits maintenance.
  • Assist with a broad range of training support in all aspects of the GATES mission, to include virtual, computer-based and in-person.
  • Assist in developing course material and assist in instructing the GATES hand-held terminal course to include device set-up and configuration, cargo processing and data transfer.
  • Assist in creating virtual and computer-based training
  • Complete After-Action Report (AAR) after completion of event
  • Prepare classroom and audio-visual equipment for training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Manager.


Requirements

Required Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science OR a Bachelor's degree (any field) + One of the certifications: CCSP, SecurityX, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, FITSP-O, GICSP, SSCP
  • 5 years' experience in developing software test plans and ensuring software meets functional requirements


Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with using GATES, Integrated Booking System (IBS), Transportation Financial Management System (TFMS), Transportation Coordinator's Automated Information For Movement System (TC AIMS II), Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES), Integrated Surface Distribution Data Cleansing Tool (iSDDC), Deployment Support System II (MDSS II), Munitions Transportation Management System (MTMS), Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWARDS), Distribution Standard System (DSS)


Minimum Clearance: Secret Clearance
