Job description

AquaPhoenix Scientific, headquartered in Hanover, PA, is seeking an experienced Product Manager responsible for the strategic development, management, and continuous improvement of the Education Services kitting and product line. Educational kits and products are designed and utilized for STEM educational classrooms across the globe. Product Manager -Education Services works closely with customers, technology teams, educators, and business stakeholders to identify, manage, and align project needs ensuring customer and end-user expectations are met. This is an in-office position that does not offer remote-work opportunities or alternative schedules.


As a key member of our education team, the successful candidate must work closely with cross-functional teams navigating the complexities that drive innovative thinking, product and designs market opportunities, sourcing, customer communications, and adherence to production objectives/timelines.   AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Product Manager – Education Services position will frequently have a background the in product/project management, education programming, STEM curriculum planning, customer relations, and/or go-to-market execution. 


Essential Responsibilities and Expectations: 

Although not all inclusive, the ideal candidates for the Product Manager -Education Services will have additional responsibilities, expectations and skills as follows: 

  • Drive the project life cycle process focusing on efficiencies, accuracy, timelines, task assignments, product sourcing, production strategies, and the achievement of revenue targets. 
  • Manage and supervise the Education Quote Specialist team providing the necessary oversite and leadership to consistently achieve department goals and objectives. 
  • Generate accurate project costs in conjunction with sales team. Develop project specifications or modifications based on customer requirements. 
  • Manage products throughout the full lifecycle, from discovery and development through launch, optimization, and retirement.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout the life of the project. Review project specifications and materials prior to the production process to ensure client vision is within scope and costs. 
  • Ensure that accurate product information is captured in ERP and updated as required. 
  • Lead project-based communications and manage project tracking objectives and deliverables. Communicate objectives, improvements, sales opportunities, and headwinds appropriately with key stakeholders. 
  • Support live/virtual meeting needs with customers, venders, and internal teams, as required.
  • Take responsibility for gaps in project shortcomings and assign and/or implement corrective action as needed. 
  • Schedule and run internal project-specific meetings, as needed with Education Quote Specialist team. 
  • Track and record department performance measures in accordance to outlined KPI standards to include detailed project plans and budgets.
  • Attend educational trade shows and conferences. Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to product safety, labeling, and environmental sustainability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner with the ability to perform tasks through to completion.


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or similar with five (5) or more years of educational kitting and product management experience and/or experience working in higher education, K–12 education, professional learning, online learning, or EdTech. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, education, technology, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through launch and ongoing optimization. 
  • Strong understanding of customer discovery, product strategy, prioritization, and roadmap development. 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills. 
  • Ability to translate complex customer and business needs into clear product requirements. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a data-informed approach to decision-making. 
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems. 
  • Experience with B2B, B2C, or B2B2C education products. 
  • Knowledge of accessibility, Prop 65, student privacy, and education-sector compliance requirements.
