COMPENSATION

Compensation for roles at Pacific Grove Hospital varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience.As required by local law, Pacific Grove Hospital provides a reasonable salary range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

RN Supervisor pay range: $52.00-$58.00 per hour

PURPOSE STATEMENT:Ā 

Responsible for day to day oversite of nursing operations of the facility and ensures staffing is adequate to provide care. When scheduled, oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. As needed, collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints. Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards. Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.Ā 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ā 

  • Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care neededĀ 
  • Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safetyĀ 
  • Enforce and interpretĀ policies for the delivery of patient and resident care.Ā 
  • EnsureĀ proper staffing for each unit,Ā keeping staff ratio, appropriate staffing for patient care needs, covering call-offs and vacation time.Ā 
  • EnsureĀ chart checks are completed, seclusion/restraint log is up to date andĀ nursing assessments are completed, as well as MAR's and report sheets are kept accurate and up to date.Ā 
  • RoundsĀ are completed at the beginning of shift and perform random audits.Ā 
  • AssistĀ nursing leadersĀ to make sure all staff are oriented and competent to perform required duties.Ā  May include coaching staff.Ā 
  • Provide mentoring and training as needed.Ā 
  • AssistĀ the nursing leadership teamĀ by ensuring facility compliance with professional, regulatory and governmental standards.Ā 
  • EnsureĀ the effective delivery of competent, compassionateĀ and safe care by monitoring and evaluating patient care processes and outcomes on the patient care units.Ā 
  • Coordinate all care rendered toĀ patients, including physicianĀ orders and diagnostic information,Ā and ensure consultations are ordered.Ā Ā 
  • DocumentĀ medical,Ā behavioral health information and nursing care.Ā Ā Ā 
  • Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.Ā Ā 
  • Assist in developing a plan of care with specific and measurable goals, objectives and interventions defining actions unique to eachĀ patient'sĀ needs. Assist in updating and revising the plan of care as goals/objectives are met or when theĀ patient'sĀ condition changes.Ā 
  • PrioritizeĀ tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.Ā 
  • Leader on shift for all admissions and discharges, as well as informing physician of changes in the patient's conditions.Ā  Adjusts staffing accordingly.Ā 
  • UtilizeĀ administrator-on-call for situations that require additional attention.Ā 
  • Provides direct care as needed.Ā Ā

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Ā 

  • BSN from accredited school of nursingĀ preferred.Ā 
  • CurrentĀ registered nursingĀ license in State of facilityĀ requiredĀ 
  • Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred.Ā 
  • 1 yearĀ of experience as an RN in any setting required.Ā 
  • 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programsĀ preferred.Ā 
  • Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.Ā 

Ā LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:Ā Ā 

CurrentĀ certification or license toĀ practiceĀ within the state where the facility is located.Ā CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).Ā 

First aid may be required based on state or facility.Ā
