Job Description
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) practices in collaboration with physicians and a surgery team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia in Pain Management. The CRNA cares for patients in a surgical pain management setting.
Job Duties
  • Reviewing medical history, evaluating patients, and determining proper methods of anesthesia.
  • Accurately measuring and monitoring the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered.
  • Monitoring patient’s vital signs to ensure safety.
  • Informing the physician if a patient becomes unstable.
  • Attending to patient’s needs before, during and after surgery.
  • Overseeing patient recovery from anesthesia.
  • Supports patient safety when performing his or her job functions.
  • Reports adverse events to appropriate management authority.
  • Identified possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates to appropriate management authority.
  • Additional task as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Holds current state license as a registered nurse in the state of Texas and complies with applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements concerning CRNAs.
  • Graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
  • Is currently certified or recertified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Insurable by an appropriate medical malpractice insurer.
  • Active Advanced cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • 1 year CRNA experience (preferred)
  • 1 year Pain Management experience (preferred)
