The Position Summary:
The Alumni & College Success Coordinator supports CRB students and alumni in achieving successful postsecondary outcomes through individualized advising, college counseling, alumni persistence support, and career readiness programming. This role serves as a key liaison between the high school, alumni, colleges/universities, families, and community partners to ensure students are supported from senior year through college completion and beyond.
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, highly organized, student-centered, and passionate about educational equity and postsecondary success for historically underserved students.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Alumni Success Coordination
  • Maintain strong working relationships and ongoing communication with Cristo Rey Brooklyn alumni and the colleges/universities alumni currently attend or previously attended.
  • Conduct virtual financial aid workshops and assist alumni with scholarship applications and financial literacy support.
  • Identify alumni in need of emergency funding and assist with securing financial assistance and external resources.
  • Manage the alumni database through Gradforce/Salesforce, including:
    • Tracking alumni communication and outreach
    • Monitoring alumni retention, persistence, and graduation data
    • Preparing reports on postsecondary outcomes and alumni engagement
  • Re-engage alumni who are inactive or have withdrawn from college by conducting phone calls, email outreach, and social media communication to support re-enrollment or transfer opportunities.
  • Organize and coordinate alumni engagement initiatives, including:
    • Alumni panels
    • Career networking and other social events
    • Focus groups
    • Reunions and community-building opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Office of Advancement to maintain alumni newsletters, communications, and social media engagement.
  • Partner with the College Guidance team to organize alumni visits, college visits, and college tours for current seniors.
  • Assist with summer programming for rising seniors and first-year college students.
College Success Coordination
  • Manage a small caseload of senior students for individualized college advising and application support.
  • Facilitate the college application process with students and families, including:
    • College list development
    • College essay writing
    • Application completion
    • FAFSA/TAP and financial aid assistance
    • Scholarship applications
  • Present information during College Nights and family workshops for parents and guardians.
  • Co-teach College Guidance classes for seniors if needed.
  • Create and implement college guidance lessons and postsecondary readiness programming.
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of ACT/SAT testing and test preparation initiatives for juniors.
  • Coordinate annual college fairs and college admissions visits.
  • Assist with the coordination and supervision of college trips and pre-college summer programming.
  • Utilize Naviance, PowerSchool, ACT, SAT, and related platforms to manage student records and submit college application materials.
  • Collaborate with the Director of College Guidance to create and implement a comprehensive college readiness program for juniors and seniors.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Administrative Leadership Team on the planning, implementation, and execution of schoolwide programs and special events.
  • Build partnerships with colleges, universities, scholarship organizations, employers, and community-based organizations to support student and alumni success.
  • Support schoolwide initiatives related to college access, career readiness, persistence, and postsecondary success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of College Guidance and/or Principal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience in college counseling, student affairs, youth development, alumni success, or postsecondary advising.
  • Strong knowledge of the college application and financial aid process.
  • Experience working with first-generation and historically underserved student populations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce/Gradforce, Naviance, PowerSchool, and other student information or data tracking systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Commitment to the mission of supporting students through college access, persistence, and career success.
