REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

(REGULAR PART TIME)

One (1) regular part time Registered Practical Nurse opportunity is available in the Emergency Department at Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

This position is unionized with UNIFOR, Local 1106.


QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
    • Current BCLS Certification
    • Demonstrated assessment skills, enrolled in or completed Physical Assessment Course
    • ACLS
    • One (1) year Emergency or Telemetry experience required (Preference will be given to candidates with current Emergency nursing experience.)
    • Two (2) years Med/Surg experience required
    • Competent in IV therapy including initiation
    • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in emergency situations.
    • Demonstrated clinical assessment and patient/family teaching skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of I.V. Therapy and venipuncture is required.
    • Proven attendance record
    • Experience in working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
    • Demonstrated lifelong learner
    • Satisfactory performance and attendance required
    • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
    • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
    • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

    HOURS:

    • Must be available for all three shifts and weekends, as per department schedule


    SALARY:                                  

    • $37.69 to $39.17 per hour
