appropriate pre-operative instructions, and will communicate with team members concerning patient carePrean responsibilities include check-in, vital signs, documentation, consents, and assessmentsTransport patients to the operating room, available to help with positioning and prepping patientsPACU duties include monitoring, documentation, management, discharging, and patient/family educationPassion for communicating to patients with warmth, ability to explain procedures, medications, and physician instructionsEssential Duties/FunctionsAssess patient conditions and initiate appropriate nursing and/or medical care in accordance with established guidelinesPerform verbal assessments with patients prior to admission in-person or via telephone, while communicating information to appropriate team membersEnsures care requirements of patients are accomplished through use of the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluationPerforms patient and requiredEducationCurrent Michigan RN license, BSN preferredMust currently be BLS and ACLS certified or obtain your certifications within 30 days of employment (reimbursement is available)ExperienceMinimum three (3) years of ambulatory surgery clinical experience as a registered nurse (RN) in Prean/PACUEmergency room or ICU experience preferredInterpersonal Skills and AttributesBilingual – English and Spanish is a plusAbility to maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient health informationAbility to focus on patient safety, teamwork, patient outcomes, patient experience and quality improvementAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingStrong communication skills: written and verbal and interpersonalMicrosoft Office experienceSkills and expertise in Prean and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision requiredFlexible, reliable,
