Duties and Responsibilities
Assist project implementation under the direction of the Hawaii Afterschool Alliance (HAA) Principal Investigator, Project
Director, and Project Manager with duties including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Assist in coordinating and planning meetings, conferences, workshops & major training events, both in person and virtual, including developing agendas, managing participant registration, identifying key stakeholders/attendees, taking notes, & assisting with coordinating event planning logistics (including light lifting).
  • Assists in processing and tracking financial transactions of requisitions, travel requests/completions, and payments.
  • Assists in preparing and processing fiscal paperwork, including travel requests, completions, purchase orders, and payments.
  • Tracks fiscal transactions to ensure they are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with developing content, coordinating, and maintaining HAA's social media accounts and website.
  • Collaborate with key partners, such as the Hawaii Child Nutrition Program, Hawaii Department of Education Food Services, school leaders, and community organizations, to expand afterschool and summer meals.
  • Assist with the collection, analysis, and evaluation of project data.
  • Document project activities to track project progress.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) in a degree-seeking graduate program at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with others.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Ability to edit written products such as articles, newsletters, web posts, training manuals, tool kits, and lesson plans.
  5. Proficiency in the following applications: Zoom, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  6. Organizational skills that include attention to detail and the ability to self-initiate/motivate.
  7. Ability to work with minimum supervision in an occasionally fast-paced office or field environment as part of a team.
  8. Ability to perform light physical work, including moving or lifting of items such as, but not limited to, boxes, files, and papers.

Desirable Qualifications
  1. Degree and/or academic background in education, social work, sociology, psychology, public administration, or a related field.
  2. Experience using Canva, Constant Contact or other e-mail marketing platform, and/or video editing applications.
