Description:
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implements and monitors patient care plans.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
The department serves adult patients with cardiac and neuro conditions.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6.
Support staff includes PCTs and a healthcare unit coordinator.
Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor techs to monitor telemetry patients.
Work requirements include up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period.
