Job description

Travel Mds Coordinator

The Travel MDS Coordinator will be responsible for utilizing the RAI process to coordinate the completion (including timing and scheduling) of the mandated OBRA and PPS MDS assessments throughout Trio's Virginia facilities. The Travel MDS Coordinator will use the MDS assessment information to contribute in the development, review, and/or revision of a resident's care plan as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Serves as a resource for all disciplines in relation to the RAI process. The Travel MDS Coordinator will also function as the key driver for facility reimbursement by ensuring accurate information is captured.

Entry Qualifications
  • Must be a licensed RN in good standing within applicable State Board of Nursing
  • Must have 3-5+ years MDS 3.0 experience
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of computer skills
  • Full understanding of State & Federal RAI regulations with the ability to communicate and comprehend the MDS process.
  • Knowledgeable about reimbursement rules and procedures.
  • CEU's as required by State
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

This list is subject to change and may require additional duties and responsibilities as determined by VP of Clinical Reimbursement

  • Travel MDS Coordinator will travel between Trio's skilled nursing facilities to assist and/or serve as the facility MDS Coordinator during times of need. Such as but not limited to open MDS position(s), act as mentor for newly hired MDS staff or need for additional MDS department support
  • Must be willing to travel and use personal vehicle for travel to skilled nursing facilities
  • Must have a current valid driver's license and agree to maintain personal vehicle insurance
  • The Travel MDS Coordinator's schedule will be determined by VP of Clinical Reimbursement. Travel MDS Coordinator will provide facility assistance relating to the RAI process including MDS completion, Care Plan development and/or revision, completion of reimbursement tools used to conduct daily, conducting weekly and monthly meetings, completing audits, completing staff education, etc.
  • Adherence to both federal and state regulations
  • Contributes in creating, maintaining, and updating resident specific care plans with each MDS completion.
  • Attends company held educational workshops including off-site, in person and virtual webinars to ensure optimal knowledge including changes of the RAI process
  • Performs in-services including one-on-one training sessions of the RAI process with members of IDT
  • Additional duties as instructed by VP of Clinical Reimbursement
Physical Demands And Environment

This position will require travel throughout Virginia to provide coverage for 9 Trio SNF's.

Overnight travel will be necessary at times. Travel expenses including mileage, meals and hotel will be reimbursed per Trio policy. This position works on-site within one of our skilled nursing facility's in an office environment.
