Do you have availability most weekdays between 4 pm to 7 pm ET? Are you seeking a role that can make a positive difference while working from home? BookNook is seeking passionate educators who are available to tutor kindergarten to grade eight (K-8) math students as a 100% virtual tutor.

BookNook partners with school districts to support students in math and reading tutoring sessions that pair the same tutor and student(s) at the same time across multiple days within the same week, from week to week, for a number of weeks. Tutors at BookNook enjoy sessions with provided lesson content, a virtual whiteboard, and an active virtual tutor community. Tutoring sessions for the fall are beginning soon; apply today!

Position Specifics Subject: Math tutoring with provided lesson content Position Type: 1099-eligible independent contractor Tutoring Sessions: Follow the standard school year, September to May Pay Rate: $20 per hour ($10 per 30-minute session) Schedule: Tutors may claim and tutor up to 30 hours per week (varies). The number of sessions a tutor conducts is based on factors such as how a tutor's consistent availability aligns with the requested tutoring times and the number of active tutoring programs seeking a tutor Tutors are asked to attend at least 80% of each full tutoring series they claim to consistently support the students for the duration of the series. Requirements Must be at least 18 years old and reside in, and tutor from, one of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Washington, or Washington DC Interest in tutoring students in K to 8th grade level math on weekdays Classroom experience and/or online teaching/tutoring experience in math or science is strongly preferred Commitment to teaching in alignment with the provided curriculum lesson design, structure, and strategies in mathematical best practices, specifically for intervention and assisting students struggling with mathematics Ability to build meaningful connections with students and create an encouraging and motivating learning environment A computer (laptop or desktop), webcam, clean and distraction-free environment, and reliable, high-speed internet connection speed of at least 20 mbps is a necessity to successfully conduct sessions in the BookNook virtual classroom BookNook Tutor Application Apply: Submit an application online and receive a reply within 5 business days Interview: Applicants may be invited to a 20-30 minute one‐way recorded interview to submit virtual video responses sharing their experience, education, and tutor style.
