Over the past couple of years, students have lost lots of math skills. If you would like to be a part of a business that is making a difference in kids' lives; helping them restore not only their math ability but also their self-confidence, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for fun, patient, math-focused tutors who are eager to create those "lightbulb moments" which are so common at Mathnasium!
Hours (We Require 3+ days of 3+ Hours Per Day of Availability)
Monday-Thursday: 3:30-7:30
Friday: 3:30-7:00
Sunday: 1:00-5:00
Required Qualifications:
Exceptional math skills through Algebra I and Geometry
Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
Ability to professionally interact with students and parents
Energetic, confident, and fun personality
Ability to solve basic technology challenges
Reliable and Responsible
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to teach students and upper-level high school math courses, including Algebra II and Pre-Calculus
Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students
Behavior management education, skills, or experience
Customer service and sales skills
Ability to provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence among students
Position Summary:
The Mathnasium Instructor is responsible for delivering mathematical instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method. Instructors are committed to providing exceptional customer service through an expert approach that is personal and prescriptive, attending to each individual student's needs. Instructors build students' confidence and self-esteem through successful encounters and interactions with carefully selected materials. Instructors work as part of a team and operate in a team teaching environment where collaboration and communication ensure all student needs are addressed. Instructors are the backbone of Mathnasium's customer service by delivering exceptional math instruction for students.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour
Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees of Mathnasium Center Licensing, LLC ("Mathnasium"). Franchisees are independent business people and not employed by Mathnasium. Thus, each franchisee and each franchisee center is unique and the franchisee is alone responsible for all employment matters in their center. If you are hired to work at a center, the franchisee will be your employer, not Mathnasium.
