The Keystone Live Instruction Teacher is state certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an on-line environment. The teacher must provide live instruction, support and guidance; be able to manage the learning process and focus on students' individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride's learning management system, and work actively with students, parents, and associated school to support each student's educational experience.
The Math Teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Math Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs. Math Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12's learning management system. They actively work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance each student's learning toward established goals. Math Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally throughout the year to various school functions, such as state testing or as otherwise required by the school.
THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION THAT WILL LIKELY PAY $17-$20/HOUR

Instructional/Curricular
  • Effectively apply working knowledge of the K12 curriculum and Online School as it relates to grade and subject level assignment;
  • Provides rich and engaging synchronous learning experiences for students
  • Demonstrates a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
  • Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools
  • Maintain and effectively apply knowledge of the State and Industry Specific learning standards;
  • Develop effective instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance provided curriculum.
  • Develop instructional lessons in alignments with schools pacing schedule.

Communication
  • Contact the students regularly via e-mail or phone;
  • Respond within appropriate time frame (usually one business day) to student/associated school inquiries;
  • Participate in a academic focused meetings with associated school administrators
  • Attend regularly scheduled virtual staff meetings.
  • Understands that a primary responsibility is to establish and maintain positive rapport with students

Records Management
  • Monitor and report on student academic and pacing progress;
  • Generate formal reports;
  • Alert school administrators of any concerns about student progress and attendance.

Community
  • Organize orientation, training, social, and educational activities for students and families;
  • Create a monthly newsletter or updated Web site as needed;
  • Lead student/parent orientations, as needed.

Assessment/Evaluation
  • Assess students per policy.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree AND
  • One (1) year industry experience leading to certification OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: Appropriate subject teaching certification.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Shared view of the virtual academy's mission
  • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge
  • An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
  • Excellent knowledge of motivational techniques
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensing as required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office; Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED Qualifications:
  • Experience as an online learner
  • Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
  • Experience teaching in a virtual setting

Equipment AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  • Internet service with modem/router is a requirement.
  • Our work from home members are asked to have and maintain High-speed internet connection. At the minimum 25Mbps download speed and 5Mbps upload speed, if not competing with other household users. For the sake of call quality, satellite, DSL, data plans, wireless or dial-up services are not compatible.

  • TYPICALLY, 20-25 PER WEEK Required
  • Fewer or Additional Hours May be Required based on business needs
  • Work Hours May be Required during Day Time Business Hours (8am-5pm, ET, Mon-Fri)

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
  • We anticipate the hourly wage to be $17-20/hour up to 25 hours per week . The hourly wage is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
